GenKids is made up of Foundations, birth - 5 years old, and RISE, kindergarten - 5th grade. GenKids meets every Sunday morning during both services and offers worship, hands-on learning, Bible stories, and community group opportunities to help connect scripture to their everyday walk. GenKids is a space where children are taught how to become disciple making followers of Jesus, while learning to value what it looks like to say YES to Jesus daily. We do this by providing a safe and uplifting environment that allows us to foster and invest in positive connections with each child, model and teach them about Jesus, have fun inside and outside of the church as a ministry, and partner with the parents.

Roles IN GenKids

Foundations/Pre-K Leader: Works with children ranging from age 0 to five years old.  Leaders in this area will help with an array of tasks, varying with age, that include: leading engaging scripture-based games and activities, teaching children prepped Bible stories/Big Ideas, providing snacks, leading and encouraging age-appropriate discussion-based community group time, possible diaper changes and bathroom breaks, and provide a safe environment where children feel seen, heard, and experience God's love through us.

Foundations/Pre-K Support Leader: Reinforces the lead role by helping support and engage the children around the curriculum, possibly teaching and leading sections of prepped material, and adding to the loving, fun, and safe environment.

Foundations/Pre-K Floor Leader: Provides support to the GenKids director as a second in command on Sunday morning. They support the leaders in rooms with diaper changes, bathroom breaks, or specific child needs. They take head counts for church totals and support check-in and check-out processes. The Floor Leader should create a welcoming and exciting environment by greeting families, connecting with parents, and building relationships with our GenKids families and leaders.

Rise/Elementary Service Leader:  “Hosts” the hour-long class with engaging large group curriculum, worship, and bible based activities. The Service Leader will be energetic, fun, and inclusive while relying on the Support Leaders to make the large group, worship, and community group experience a success.

Rise/Elementary Support Leader: Reinforces the Service Leader role by helping support and engage the children around the curriculum, possibly teaching and leading sections of prepped material, leading a kids' community group at the end of large group time, and adding to the loving, fun, and safe environment.

Rise/Elementary Tech Lead: Manages the sound, lighting, and slides for the curriculum and runs a kids’ community group in class. This position is often a great first step for students who no longer attend Elementary and want to begin their own personal serve journey.
