Our Story…

 Our story began in August 2014, when a group of people gathered in a bowling alley in Clayton, North Carolina, with a dream to see the gospel change our community.

In February 2015, we launched as a church. We are at our third location over the past eight years and have been searching for a permanent building to call home.

We believe the most significant change we can bring to Clayton and the community is to make disciples. A disciple is someone who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and helping others do the same. We are all in on Jesus’ mission of making disciples, and we want to invite you to help us continue carrying out His mission in Clayton.

Our Vision…

…is to be disciple-making followers of Jesus. This building, centrally located in downtown Clayton, increases our visibility and enhances our ability to meet the needs of our community.

It will allow for more seats and space to grow as a church body and opportunities to expand our kid and student ministries, allowing us to raise up young disciple-makers for the next generation.

As we create more seats, we will be able to bring in more income so we can sow into the Kingdom and share what God has given us with our local community. As our giving increases, so does our impact on Clayton, the world, and the Kingdom.

A NOTE FROM PASTOR JARRET

Several years ago, my pastor told me to say YES to whatever would make the greatest impact for the Kingdom of God in the shortest amount of time. To this day, I live with those words in my heart, and I regularly ask the Holy Spirit, “Is what I am doing making the greatest impact for Your Kingdom?” This prayer led us to gather a group of families in a bowling alley almost nine years ago with a vision to plant a church that would greatly impact the Kingdom. We believed God was calling us to make this impact in Clayton, which is why we are #forclayton. Clayton matters. Clayton is who we are. Clayton is where we always want to be. Moving into this building will further our impact for the Kingdom of God in Clayton in an even more significant way. We will have the ability to increase our presence in the community, reach and build more disciple-making followers of Jesus, and expand our capacity to respond to the needs around us with even greater generosity. I want to invite you to join me in saying YES to sacrificial giving so that we may increase our impact “FOR THE KINGDOM.”

FAQ:

  • 100% of all funds donated to the Building Fund will go toward purchasing or renovating the new building.

  • Our goal is to continue meeting every Sunday until the official move date. Once we move, we anticipate not being able to meet for a couple of weeks as we get the new space operational. At that time, we will not have Sunday services and ask that anyone who is available to help with moving would support Generation in that way.

  • After much prayer and careful consideration as an elder team, we have come to believe that God brought this opportunity to us, and we know He will help provide financially for it. We are able to enter this loan without depleting our savings and owning property in downtown Clayton will be a sought-after area for years to come.

  • We will have a monthly mortgage payment, which will be lower than our current rent. We will strive to pay off the loan in full as soon as possible.

  • We will close on the property in January and hope to move sometime around April 2024. There is currently a tenant in the space who have plans of moving into another building ASAP, so we will be waiting for some of those pieces to fall into place.

  • The necessary permits to be obtained easily, and the construction teams to be knowledgeable and available.

  • The right people to be placed around us for every stage of the process and that we would stay close to God, following His guidance and will for this transition.

  • The staff to stay healthy and energized while remaining 100% focused on our ministry.

  • The church body to stay open, flexible, and patient with the process.

  • God to be in the details and help us through each stage, even the ones we don’t even know exist yet.
